Credentialing Agent
Senate Bill 2042 authorized districts in California to gain state approved Induction Programs to serve as credentialing agents for teachers with a Preliminary Credential. Preliminary Credentialed teachers enrolled in district sponsored Induction Programs complete the two-year program. Upon this completion, the district recommends the Participating Teacher to the California Commission For Teacher Credentialing for receiving their Clear Credential.
Portfolio
PTs compile two Portfolios, one for each of the Induction Standards. The Portfolio serves as a means to demonstrate evidence of the growth of the PT’s teaching practice during the Induction period. The contents of the Portfolio include the New Teacher Center Formative Assessment System (NTC-FAS) Tools, Inquiry Action Plans, and student work samples that illustrate growth.
PTs are given an opportunity to share their Portfolios with grade and/or content alike colleagues during the Exit Process, which marks the culmination of their two-year Induction experience.
Preliminary Portfolio checks may be done at anytime during the year. Please contact Lupe Sanchez (ext. 2810) for further information.
