BGHS_CASH_FOR_COLLEGE_1.jpgThe Cash for College workshops that are designed to assist students and other community members with the process of applying for federal aid for college continue to be a huge success.

Hosted by the Montebello Unified School District’s Bell Gardens High School Feb. 4, the Cash for College workshop provided assistance to more than 200 students with an application process that can be very confusing.

“We had 206 students attend our Cash for College workshop who either completed their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) forms or got started on them,” Bell Gardens High School College Counselor Tracy Brendzal said. “It was a great success!”

Bell Gardens High School will host a second Cash for College workshop on Feb. 27, 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., in the school library. Bell Gardens High School is located at 6119 Agra St., Bell Gardens.

The Cash for College workshops provide free one-on-one professional financial aid assistance to students and families. Additionally, each workshop offers an AB540 advisor to work personally with undocumented students and their family to explore the maximum amount of opportunity for every situation.
