Superintendent Pell Receives Lifelong Achievement Award

Under the leadership of Cleve Pell, the Montebello Unified School District Adult School Education program has prepared thousands of students for the professional world.

The California Adult Education Administrators Association took notice, and presented Pell with the 2012 Lifelong Achievement Award at its 15th annual conference. The award recognizes his dedication and his substantial and exemplary contributions to adult education.

Pell has given nearly five decades of service to education, beginning his tenure with MUSD in 1964. He became an Adult School Principal in 1988 and was the Director of Adult Education from 1992 to 2010. Pell has served as MUSD Co-Superintendent with Robert Henke since 2010.

Serving nearly 30,000 students a year, the MUSD Adult School Education program is one of the largest in the state.
