WHAT IS THE 21 ST CENTURY GRANT?

The 21 st Century Grant is a fun after school program for elementary students. The program is part of the No Child Left Behind Act and offers different after school programs and activities.

HOW LONG DOES THE PROGRAM LAST?

E.L.O. plans to offer a positive, safe, and supervised place for students to go after school Monday through Friday from school release time until 6 pm. The program will operate directly on each school campus for an average of 3.5 hours per day. It will run until the end of the year.

WHAT WILL CHILD BE DOING IN THIS AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM?

You will be doing fun programs and activities such as youth development, drug and violence prevention, art, music, recreation, technology education, and character education. You will also get Homework help and tutoring to help you become a better student.

 

HOW WILL THIS PROGRAM HELP ME?

This after school program will help kids to take on new challenges, learn new things, and find new ways to contribute to their communities. Each day students will get tutoring and Homework help. Students who attend this program improve in grades and behavior.
 

DO I HAVE TO ATTEND?

Your attendance in this program is very important. The program is for you and it will help you with learning and your grades. You will get Homework help, extra help in Language Arts, and a lot of time to use computers.
 

WHAT MATERIALS DO I NEED TO BRING WITH ME?

All that you need to bring with you is your Homework, your student agenda, and your positive behavior.
 

CAN MY FAMILY VOLUNTEER AND HELP OUT?

Yes, if someone in your family wants to volunteer have them talk to your teacher. Your family is an important part of this program.
