Friends of the Montebello Unified School District Foundation (FMUSDF) was started by local Montebello business leaders and former Montebello Unified School District Administrators to provide financial support for students and the Montebello Unified School District (MUSD) for those needs that could not be met through state and federal funding. FMUSDF works independently from the District. The Foundation directs charitable proceeds toward providing financial assistance to promote excellence in education throughout the Montebello Unified School District.

Founded in 2012 for the purpose of supporting the educational programs of the Montebello Unified School District, the Friends of the Montebello Unified School District Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) tax-exempt educational foundation. While independent from the school district, the foundation enjoys a positive relationship with the Board of Education and the entire district. The Board of Directors of the foundation is composed of community leaders and the board is committed that every student in theMontebello Unified School District will receive an excellent education so that each may reach his or her full potential and become a joyful and fully engaged member of the community. The Foundation advocates for public education, engages the community, and develops resources to support excellent education in the Montebello Unified School District.

Fund Raising Efforts
Donations received through fund raising events and other efforts sponsored by FMUSD provide for the financial support necessary to help with many worthwhile endeavors that may not otherwise be possible.
Friends of the Montebello Unified School District contributed funds for the repair of musical equipment and provided for MUSD staff training sessions. These efforts were made possible by charitable donations from the people in the Montebello community to FMUSD.
Teachers, Counselors, Classified staff, Administrators, Parents, and others may apply for funding from the Friends of Montebello Unified School District Foundation. Please fill out the attached form and describe how the proposal will be used, evaulated, and funded.
