Welcome to the Montebello Unified School District’s Finance Department web site. The Finance Department is dedicated to maximizing our financial resources, thus enabling our students to attain their highest academic performance. The Finance Department’s personnel are client—focused and service oriented. They are committed to maintain financial records in strict accordance with all federal and state guidelines. The Finance Department is an integral part of the Business Services Division and works in collaboration with all Departments, Divisions and schools throughout the District. From budget development to financial analysis, the Finance Department is always ready to provide accurate and timely information in an effort to secure for our students every opportunity to excel.

MISSION STATEMENT

  • To provide accurate and timely financial information to all stakeholders, to enable them to make informed decisions.
  • To supplement and complement the efforts of other members of the organization to raise the achievement of our students.
 

ABOUT THE FINANCE DEPARTMENT

The Finance Department is comprised of four sections: Accounts Payable, Budget Control, Categorical Programs, General Ledger and a total of twenty seven employees. Each section has its own unique set of duties and responsibilities; however all sections work towards the common goal of raising student performance.
 
The Finance Department monitors an annual budget of approximately $280 million that funds a wide range of programs serving our students’ diverse needs. All of our fiscal and accounting practices are regulated by the Governmental Accounting Standards Board, California State Accounting Manual, California Education Code and Board Policies. Our accounting records are audited and certified every year by a contracted CPA firm.
